Welcome to Ethiopia! Your 10 day Ethiopia tour begins in the vibrant capital city, Addis Ababa. Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, we'll embark on an Addis Ababa city tour, exploring key landmarks including the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous "Lucy" fossil, and the majestic Holy Trinity Cathedral. We'll also ascend Entoto Hill for panoramic city views. In the evening, enjoy a taste of Ethiopian culture with a traditional dinner featuring local cuisine and captivating music and dance.Overnight in Addis Ababa.

After breakfast, our Omo Valley travel continues with a scenic drive south towards Arbaminch, gateway to the Omo Valley tribes. The journey takes us through the stunning landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. In the afternoon, we'll arrive in Arbaminch and check into our lodge. Our cultural immersion begins with a visit to the Dorze Village, nestled high in the Guge Mountains. Discover the unique beehive-shaped houses and the intricate Dorze people weaving traditions. Learn about their social structure and perhaps even sample their traditional bulla bread. 

This morning, we'll experience a thrilling Lake Chamo boat trip within Nechisar National Park. This area is a haven for Ethiopia wildlife tours, and on the lake, we'll have excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing Ethiopia, including numerous Nile crocodiles and hippos. Keep an eye out for diverse birdlife! Later, we'll drive east towards Konso, known for its unique cultural heritage. Upon arrival, check into your lodge. Overnight in Konso 

Today, we delve into the fascinating Konso cultural landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Konso tribe is renowned for its terraced agriculture, intricate stone-walled villages, and the tradition of carving wooden totems (waga). We'll explore traditional Konso villages, learning about their age-grade system and unique customs. You might even witness a traditional Konso dance. In the afternoon, our Omo Valley itinerary takes us further south to Turmi, the heartland of the Hamer tribe. Overnight in Turmi 

Our exploration of the Omo Valley tribes continues with a drive to a village of the Karo tribe, known for their elaborate Karo tribe body painting and decorations, residing along the banks of the Omo River. In the afternoon, depending on the day (likely Saturday), we may visit the Key Afer market, a vibrant tribal market Ethiopia frequented by the Nyangatom tribe and other ethnic groups. Alternatively, if the opportunity arises, we may witness a traditional Hamer tribe bull jumping ceremony (these are not scheduled and depend on local events). The Nyangatom tribe is known for its distinct cultural practices and attire.Overnight in Turmi 

Today, we venture west to visit a village of the Dassenech tribe Ethiopia, who live in the arid region near the Omo River. Crossing the river often involves a traditional dugout canoe, adding to the adventure.In the late afternoon, we'll return to the Turmi area for another chance to witness a bull jumping ceremony if missed previously, or visit a traditional Hamer Village to learn more about their vibrant customs, including their unique hairstyles and traditions. Overnight in Turmi 

After breakfast, we drive north towards Jinka. En route, we'll visit a village of the Ari tribe Ethiopia. The Ari tribe is one of the largest in the region and is known for its agricultural practices and unique crafts like pottery and ironwork. You'll have the chance to interact with the community and learn about their way of life. Upon arrival in Jinka, check into your hotel. Overnight in Jinka 

An early start takes us to Mago National Park, home to diverse wildlife and, most famously, the Mursi tribe. The Mursi tribe lip plates worn by the women are a distinctive cultural feature. We'll visit a Mursi village, a unique cultural encounter. Please note that photography in Mursi villages often involves a small fee. In the afternoon, we begin our drive back to Arba Minch for an overnight stay. Overnight in Arbaminch 

Today, we drive north towards Awassa City, located on the shores of Lake Awassa. Along the way, we'll make a stop to visit the Halaba tribe, known for their traditional Halaba tribe weaving and pottery making. You'll have the opportunity to witness their craftsmanship and perhaps purchase some souvenirs. Upon arrival in Awassa, check into your hotel overlooking the beautiful lake. Overnight in Awassa 

Our final day starts with a visit to the bustling Lake Awassa fish market, a vibrant scene where local fishermen bring their catch. This is also a fantastic spot for birdwatching. After experiencing the local life, we'll begin our drive back to Addis Ababa, where your Omo Valley tour concludes. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have some time for last-minute souvenir shopping before your transfer to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport for your departure.
