Day 01 :
Arrival in Addis Ababa
Welcome to Ethiopia! Upon arrival at Bole International Airport ( ADD ) our Best Ethiopian Tours representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Settle in, enjoy a welcome dinner, and get briefed on the incredible journey ahead.
Day 02 :
Fly to Semera & Drive into the Danakil
An early morning flight takes you from Addis Ababa to Semera, the gateway to the Afar region There, your expert team and 4x4 vehicles will be waiting. We'll begin our journey into the vast and awe inspiring Danakil Depression, driving to our guesthouse in Abala for the night.
Day 03 :
The Volcano Experience Erta Ale
Today is a highlight of the tripWe'll drive to the Erta Ale base camp and, in the afternoon, begin our hike to the volcano. As night falls, we'll reach the rim to witness the spectacular, bubbling lava lake. Spend the night camping under the stars, an unforgettable and raw experience.
Day 04 :
Dallol's Colorful Wonders & Lake Assale
After descending from Erta Ale, we'll head to the extraordinary Dallol Depression You'll explore its vibrant, alien-like landscape of bubbling sulfur pools and mineral formations. Afterward, we’ll visit Lake Assale to observe the traditional salt caravans and then drive to a lodge in Berahile for a much deserved rest.
Day 05 :
From Desert to Mountains Fly to Bale
We'll drive from Berahile back to Semera for our flight to GobaRob Gebeya Airport The starting point for our mountain adventure. Please note, this flight often includes a brief stop in Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to your lodge in either Goba or Dinsho, the park headquarters.
Day 06 :
Wildlife Spotting in the Bale Mountains
This morning we head to the Gaysay Grasslands A prime location to spot the elusive and endemic Ethiopian wolf and the giant mole rat. We'll spend the day enjoying light hikes and wildlife viewing in this unique Afro alpine habitat. Overnight Goba or Dinsho
Day 07 :
Trekking the Sanetti Plateau
Today we’ll ascend to the Sanetti Plateau The largest Afroalpine habitat in Africa. We'll trek to the peak of Tullu Deemtu (4,377m) offering incredible 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape. The plateau is also a haven for unique birdlife and flora. Overnight in a lodge near the plateau.
Day 08 :
Harenna Forest & Departure
Our final day begins with a descent into the mysterious Harenna Forest A magnificent cloud forest rich in biodiversity, including the rare Bale monkey. After a final nature walk, we'll transfer you to Goba Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. From there, you'll connect with your international flight home, filled with memories of Ethiopia's dramatic and diverse beauty.
